If you’re a vehicle owner, you’ll obviously want to ensure that you keep your vehicle as secure as possible, which is why lockable parking posts and other similar pieces of equipment have been selling so well for so many years now. You no doubt work hard for your money and belongings, so why should you have to worry about somebody breaking into your car and stealing the contents, or worse still, actually breaking into your car and stealing the vehicle itself? The answer is that you shouldn’t, but sadly, car theft is a real problem, all over the globe, and it has been since the invention of the automobile. The good news however, is that you can very easily keep your car incredibly safe and secure, in a number of different ways, and best of all, they’re all very simple and very affordable as well, so not only do you benefit from peace of mind, you don’t end up breaking the bank as a result. Here are a few useful tips on keeping your car safe.

Keep Valuables Out Of Sight
This is one of the most obvious and most common examples of car security, but it really works. If you leave a handbag, wallet, or even cash, visible on the seat of your car, or anywhere else, all it would take would be for one opportunistic thief to be walking past at the time, to see the valuables, to grab something heavy, break the window, and steal the contents – all of which would be possible in less than 10 seconds. If you must leave valuables in the car, hide them out of sight, but for best results, take them with you.

Lockable Parking Posts
If you’re worried about somebody attempting to steal your car from home, lockable parking posts are absolutely fantastic, and they’re so easy to use as well. The basic premise is that these posts are bolted and cemented firmly into the ground, in front or behind your car, typically on your driveway. They are designed to fold downwards when you need to get your car out, and when you wish to keep your car secure, you lock them upwards via a special key. They basically function as parking bollards and work extremely well.

Always Lock Your Car
Even if you’re just calling into the corner shop for some milk, when you leave your car, always lock it. If you leave it unlocked, anybody could try the door, find it unlocked, and could grab whatever was inside, or even try to steal the car itself. If the door was locked, breaking the window would take much longer, and it would be louder and would attract much more attention, which would obviously put anybody off. Locking your car takes seconds, and it could save you hundreds, if not thousands.

Park in Well-Lit and Busy Areas
If it’s night time, always park in a well-lit area as no thief would want to break into a car if they’re illuminated under a lamppost, for all of the world to see. Not only that, but if you park where there are other cars, a lot of properties, and a lot of people, the busier it is, generally the safer your car will be.
